What does it cost to work with the Keller Group?

When hiring a small business accounting firm for your bookkeeping, payroll or tax compliance, you certainly may wonder - what will all of this cost me?  The answer is so easy – it depends!  While it is impossible to give an exact cost, we will discuss here how we price our work so you can gain a better understanding of how we got there.

Fixed Fee Pricing

First of all, for most of what we do, we charge a fixed monthly fee.  The fee does not change unless 1) the scope of work changes or 2) routine, inflationary price adjustments.  Our basic package starts at $450 and includes:

-          Monthly Bookkeeping

-          Tax Planning

-          Business Tax Return Preparation

-          Unlimited support from our team

There are two main factors that affect the cost of our services:

1.      Your transaction volume

This includes all of your outgoing checks, ach payments, credit card transactions and loan payments.

2.      Complexity of your business

Every business is different.  Some have very complex books with a lot of assets, loans and other accounts which need to be reviewed and reconciled each month.  Some businesses have only a checking account and few other significant balance sheet account.  Another common complexity is the need to file sales tax.

When we prepare a proposal, we take all of these factors into account.

Popular Add Ons

What we just discussed is a very simple package.  In addition to the core services, we also provide and expanded set of offerings for a more complete outsourced :

-          Payroll processing and reporting

-          Bill pay solutions

-          Custom reporting

Onboarding Fee

In addition to the monthly fee, there is also an initial investment to get started in the form of an onboarding fee.  This onboarding fee covers a number of things including time needed to set up your account including:

-          Initial Strategy Session – this is where we meet to establish our working relationship and provide you with best practices to manage the accounting and tax aspects of your business

-          System Setup we set up accounting and payroll software and ensure all bank integrations are active

-          Review Past Returns – as part of our onboarding process, we take a look at the work of your previous firm to ensure things were handled correctly as well as to look for potential tax saving opportunities

Who is a good fit for our small business accounting package?

After many years and working with many businesses, we have found that some are a much better fit than others for our services.  Below are the characteristics of businesses that we have found to be a great fit for our services:

-          Proactive business owners that understand the value of hiring a team of professionals to help them advance their business

-          Businesses that have consistent profitability and dependable cash flows

-          Revenue in excess of $250,000 – any lower than this and our services might not be cost effective

-          While we don’t have a maximum revenue number, there is a point where a business is large enough to justify the cost of hiring your own in-house accounting team
